I count myself so lucky to have friends like you lot, thank you all. I asked myself last night 'why me', I don't think of my problems usually just accept them unless pain gets really bad. But I have started to wonder why I have all these illnesses and all of them painful. I mean I couldn't even get a virus without it getting into my spine and damaging nerves to my legs, leaving me disabled. Why couldn't I get it then get over it as normal people would do, no not me.
Sorry, I am feeling sorry for myself this morning, but I am feeling angry and near the end of my tether, but as I usually do I will pick myself up and carry on best I can. It is the love from my friends on here that gets me through, thank you all for being there for me.

Love Caz xxxx

Caz, so sorry to hear your news from the hospital. Do you know when you have to go for the scans? Thinking about you and hoping that the hospital can do something to help you feel better.

Love and best wishes.

Hiya Caz, If we're truthful we would all ask "why me" and why shouldn't you feel sorry for yourself..........nothing wrong in that and l know it won't be long till you get over that stage and will soon be able to cope a little better :))).
Caz it is good that you know you have some really good friends on here that you can call on 24/7 and l think you know they are not there because they feel sorry for you , there are there cause they like who you are, xx

Hi Caz, my lovely, hope you will feel a little brighter today

I am sorry I didn't get around to phoning you, but you have been in my thoughts - I am never sure when it's the best time to call and with o.h. home early last night it was too late again by the time I had finished dinner.

I can understand the 'why me', I would be the same I am sure, but you have coped so well thus far, why shouldn't you query the reasons for such suffering.

Take care, love, and will try to talk with you soon

gentle hugs for a special friend.

Morning Caz. Always remember you have friends here who are sending you positive thoughts and keep your in their thoughts. I for one do.

Sorry I din't add yesterday.

Yes, we do ask "WHY ME" . It is human nature to, so don't worry about feeling sorry for yourself, you're intitled to.

Take Care & love to you and your wonderful Philip.

Thank you all, I feel a bit emotional after reading the last few days. I didn't get round to replying yesterday as other things in the flat needed doing. I am feeling better about it but it has hit me the same as the first two did, it's horrible being told news like that. I haven't got the letters yet for scans but she has asked for urgent ones so it wont be long.
I had a nice surprise yesterday, my new washer came, yes I bought a little table top washer. I think you know that we have washing rotas when we have our own hour and a half twice a week. Some people have been abusing it and using other peoples time, it happened to me on Tuesday, with hubby being home we decided to take advantage and use our full time. It backfired on us as someone had one washer full and both dryers going, in fact the same person who did it the last time hubby was home.
On Wednesday we all got a letter saying that from Monday all washing was open, meaning anyone can use it at any time between 8-6. Carole our manager/warden came up at teatime as she usually does when she has a problem to talk to me about it. I told her how hard it would be for me, not being able to walk that far, it's at opposite end of building on bottom floor. I would spend all day and every day trying to get a wash done, as it is now my sister comes on Thursday my other time and knows we have got laundry to ourselves so she is not wasting the time coming.
Next day we got another letter saying that she had a hell of a morning with loads of people complaining about it so she asked us all to attend a meeting in the comunity room Thursday afternoon. I only knew a few who live near me and my friend who I knew before, (who is the biggest culprit and got other old ladies to agree with her). We sat in a big circle and of course where did Carole stand, right behind me, so everyone was looking at me most of the time. She kept putting her hands on my shoulders and using me as an example of why we should have our ' safe time ', I asked her quietly to move to one side but she kept nudging back, lol. In the end it was decided that the small washer was for the rota wash which we are all glad about, and the big washer for open wash. We can do two washes in the smaller one in the time it takes for the big one to finish. She told me later when she came up to talk about it, she had stood there to give her confidence because she expected a 'right royal row' as she called it.
I had been thinking for a couple of months about buying a small washer as my mum used to have one years ago, and asked Carole if I could get it, as long as it's not plumbed in I was ok. I have always done small things by hand on a regular basis to keep up with washing but it is affecting my hands now. Anyway it came yesterday, a little twin tub, it's unbelievable, stands on the biggest of my nest of tables in the bathroom to drain into bath, and is so quiet when in use, I love it, I got three pairs of tracksuit bottoms in yesterday and it coped well.
Oh heck I didn't mean to go on about it but I'm thrilled to bits with it and it's something good in my life at moment.
I have to be at dentist at ten thirty this morning for a loose tooth out, should have been on Monday but he didn't want to do it before he had got my list of medication because I am on such a lot. So he is opening specially for me this morning, keep your fingers crossed please, although I would rather have one out than a filling.
Sorry for rambling on so much. Those who have e-mailed me and pm'd, i'll get round to answering you but when I looked on Thursday I had 37 and only managed to read half, haven't looked since so might have some more, so bear with me please.

Hi Caz, you sound a little bit better today. So glad you have managed to get the washer. You don't need the stress of trying to get your washing time--some people have no consideration for others. They must know your situation, so you would think they would be less selfish.

I hope, like Tinkkerbell said that the washer will make things a little bit easier for you.

Take care and look after yourself.

Speak to you soon.

Best wishes.

Hi Carol, Carole and Sallie, yes I do feel a bit better today, what will be will be I always think, just got a bit upset to be told it's getting worse, or got into my internal organs.
Love my little washer and can do most things in flat now, doing sheets and towels downstairs. I used to wash underclothes and t shirts etc in a big bucket in bathroom and they dried overnight just by handwringing.
I am so glad we are keeping the rota as I'd hate my sister to come on her day only to find laundry full, after all she has her own life.

Caz, I am pleased you have a new toy to play with and that it will save your poor hands and wrists from the hand washing. I did some of that yesterday, I do it upstairs in the bathroom basin and rinse things in the bath in cold water then put them in a little fabric softener - sometimes it is quite therapeutic but it is time consuming too and having to traipse up and down the stairs with the things as I only have a small container for them and couldn't mix some coloured things, it quite wore me out. Got them dry really fast tho so all ironed and ready if I want to go out now.
You see how you inspired confidence in Carole at the meeting or was she going to duck behind you if things got nasty lol Glad you still have the washing machine rota, what a shame some selfish people spoil it for others.

take care
Love

YorkshireCaz Report 23 Aug 2009 08:46

Liz I find it therapeutic as well but all on one passage so not hard for me, easier when soaked overnight as well. I got one of those airers from Ar**s that fits over bath and has a third piece that goes further up wall, it holds a lot and once shower curtain is pulled over most of it bathroom looks normal, not like a laundry.
I have to tell you this, might give you a giggle, someone, and we can guess who, rang me as I was getting ready to go to dentist yesterday. Well, it was only when I got sat in his chair I realised I had the 'tousled just got out of bed look', literally, I had forgotten to brush my hair with being in a rush. A look of horror must have been on my face as nurse asked what was wrong, she came over and put one or two pieces in their place and said it wasn't noticable. OMG, I nearly died of embarassment.
You are right about the rota and selfish people, one man stood up and very forcefully stated that he has been here ten years and rota worked perfectly until this last year when it all got out of hand. My friend has been here a year now!!!

Glad you got a compromise with the rota problem Caz, how selfish of your friend to want to upset a system that has worked perfectly well for 10 years. I bet she is not a popular neighbour. Glad also that you have got your little washer, it will be so useful for you. strange the mundane things that can please us isn't it?
