Be scared...be very scared!

There is nothing so evil as a 'uge, 'orible, 'airy spider intent on revenge!

Amanda2003

Amanda2003 Report 18 Aug 2009 23:58

But are they amplified by fear and excitement ?? Fishermen always say the fish they nearly caught was yea big ..................and the spider that one saw was definitely to big to fit all it's legs into the timidly proffered glass.

Allan Report 18 Aug 2009 23:58

Amanda2003 Report 19 Aug 2009 00:02

G'day Allan...............are the spider in Oz really big ? or just a lot more spiteful than British ones...............I've never been out of the UK and can't imagine actually having to live close by to deadly things.............lol

Mauatthecoast

Mauatthecoast Report 19 Aug 2009 00:02

ahem don't want to win a prize or anything Allan but,....spider in room was bigger than the one we had in our room in Australia in 2004....lol

Allan

Allan Report 19 Aug 2009 00:10

yep...some can grow to a fair size.

Although, the most deadly one is found in most homes and garages and doesn't grow very big. It's called a daddy long legs. You can handle it with impunity as its fans are too small to penetrate human skin.

Scientists have analyzed its venom and yes it would be extremely venomous to humans fi it could bite.

We have huntsman spiders here in WA which can grow to a fair size and in the bush there are actual species of bird-eating spiders

Since I put this up there has been a BIG spider discovered ( to much horror ) every couple of days !!
I'm sitting on my computer chair with my feet tucked under me just in case...........lol
OH just spotted a MASSIVE one in the kitchen , it barely fits into a pint glass .
Is any one else suffering from a similar invasion ?

My " spider dance " has never been so often as the past few weeks . It never ceases to make my OH laugh his head off.........lol

Amanda2003

Amanda2003 Report 24 Aug 2009 22:36

If they are money spiders Allan.......then I'm looking forward to being THAT rich...........lol...........then I can buy lots of sellotape to seal all the vents in the house up and stop the bu**ers getting in !

Allan

Allan Report 24 Aug 2009 22:37

To paraphrase Blake

"Spider, spider, burning bright, jumps on bed in dead of night"

it's those eight legs: champion high-jumpers

rofl (and not doing the spider dance..also known as the tarentella!)
