So you decided to stay then, that's good.

The place wouldn't be the same without you

I might stay here myself now

UzziAndHerDogs Report 1 Sep 2009 11:40

And now, the end is near;
And so I face the final curtain.
My friend, Ill say it clear,
Ill state my case, of which Im certain.

Ive lived a life thats full.
Ive traveled each and evry highway;
And more, much more than this,
I did it my way.

Regrets, Ive had a few;
But then again, too few to mention.
I did what I had to do
And saw it through without exemption.

I planned each charted course;
Each careful step along the byway,
But more, much more than this,
I did it my way.

Yes, there were times, Im sure you knew
When I bit off more than I could chew.
But through it all, when there was doubt,
I ate it up and spit it out.
I faced it all and I stood tall;
And did it my way.

Ive loved, Ive laughed and cried.
Ive had my fill; my share of losing.
And now, as tears subside,
I find it all so amusing.

To think I did all that;
And may I say - not in a shy way,
No, oh no not me,
I did it my way.

For what is a man, what has he got?
If not himself, then he has naught.
To say the things he truly feels;
And not the words of one who kneels.
The record shows I took the blows -
And did it my way!

Hi Welshy, all..., sorry I went out to garden and still there several hours later lol, didn't realise there was quite so much cutting back to be done. The buddliea has finished flowering more or less so did that, and the laurel hedge , looks a bit tidier for autumn . That's the front garden so will get round the back soon, needed a break :))

lol BC, it was a 'knife edge ' decision at the end....20 minutes before deadline I renewed.

I had switched my membership from 'continuous' to 'single' a couple of days previously, ...but in the end what won me over ( aside from all the lovely people of course! ) , was the amount of enjoyment I get from doing look ups for others, and while I still have Ancestry seemed a shame not to make use of it :))

Welshy I will say I am sorry for your fathers funeral I know how much I miss my dad

My song for dads is the hamlet theme tune ....a mistake maybe but never-the-less played as his coffin trundled along the rollers to the fire ! dad would have laughed

Do you have a large garden Welshy? bit far to come to help you but lots of people on here , including me, happy to advise if we can ... I can't take credit for this garden as only been here a couple of months, and it has been loved for 50 years :))
But i do like gardening :))

Welshy Report 1 Sep 2009 14:42

It's quite big RR, it was a lovely garden when I moved here but with 3 welshies and a full time job it went back to it's natural state of wild meadow.
I chopped a plum tree down but 10 more appeared all over the garden. so I'll have to get the axe out soon

Uzzi, the Hamlet tune sounds quite surreal, if your dad would have laughed then that's OK, I think I might have had a little chuckle if it was played at my dad's cremation cos he would have found it funny too

Do you not like plums to eat then Welshy ? mindyou there is an apple tree here and just too many apples for 2 to eat , you are too busy working so just keep the grass down occasionally and leave it 'natural' lol

Welshy

Welshy Report 1 Sep 2009 15:11

Rose, I can't walk down the garden without slipping and sliding 20ft on my plums. lol
