The mountains of Snowdonia. Whenever I go there, though it's been more than ten years now, I always feel like I'm coming home. No connection there whatsoever, but it still feels like home.

I just love looking a photos of the area.

I'm with you on that Amanda...you're not far away from me. :-)

Maybe that's why I love North Wales so much.

Yes Rose, viewing Rye standing on its hill, with some of its original wall still standing.

I have an engraving of Rye from the 1800's when The Duke of Wellington was Warden of the Cinque Ports, hanging on the wall behind me.
I can imagine my GGGrandfather being one of the3 people in the foreground.
I have been to the spot where the artist must have stood ... unfortunately trees have grown up restricting the view.

Angela now in Wilts (not North Devon) Report 3 Oct 2009 21:24

One of my ggg grandfather's was christened in Rye.

From our home in North Devon we could see Dartmoor on a clear day.

From our previous home in Surrey we could see Canary Wharf, the PO Tower, the Nat West buiding, St Pauls....

From our current home we can see....other homes, but just up the road there are wonderful views of Salisbury Plain and the surrounding area.........

We love it here.

Another one is the New Forest in Hampshire. Now my ancestors do come from Hampshire, but I love it because it was where I spent half my childhood, being brought up partly by my grandparents.

Almost anywhere in the Lake District (Well maybe not the towns) but especially Rydal water and Grasmere from the footpath that runs below Loughrigg. Grasmere from above at what we call High close. Tarn Howes, The hills and mountains from Tom Heights above Tarn Howes.

On a larger scale The Grand Canyon, Brice Canyon.

The buildings of Florence

The coast of Cornwall, almost anywhere. And, since this year, the coast from Burton Bradstock in Dorset looking across Lyme Bay to Lyme Regis.

Too many to think of really. and yes, I do also feel 'called' to buildings, love Gloucester Cathedral, and Exeter Cathedral.
