So the police will now know a little more about you than you might want them to? lol

The important thing is that she's ok bless her. Thank goodness she had the good sense to ask for their ID. So many elderly people don't, in spite of repeated warnings. I have my doubts over whether my mum would, she's so trusting.

So glad your Mum's okay Hayley,these conmen are despicable!! a few years ago my Dad ,when 86yrs old,had his wallet stolen from his hallway by a young thug (who was selling dusters door to door for a 'charity'. Dad said he'd felt sorry for him!)
I was sorry I wasn't there at the time,I'd have done more than hit him with my handbag and he would have been the one who was sorry!

These people who prey on the elderly are the lowest of the low!!
I do hope all her neighbours look out for each other

The electricity and gas gas board don't call at the same time, and have ID and flack jackets not suits, I'm glad your mum wasn't taken in by them and hope was not upset by it, god bless her for making a stand. :))
