Whirley Report 16 Nov 2009 22:06

Preston Crown Court heard the 22-year-old from Blackburn, Lancashire, had been drinking at home before leaving the house to go to several house parties and bars.

The woman, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, was only caught when her eldest daughter was seen hanging out of the window asking where her mummy was.

A worried relative broke into the house and found the four-year-old girl had tried to feed her three-year-old, one-year-old and three-month-old siblings.

When police arrived at the filthy property the children were distressed and crying with hunger.

well, she should be locked up and the kids given to someone who does actually want them.....flamin disgrace...

"Richard Bennett, defending Stevenson, said she was a 22-year-old with four young children by three different fathers who had found her life "extremely difficult and distressful".

He said: "There can be no doubt that this young woman was under a great deal of stress.

"She was depressed because of the break-up of her long-term relationship with the father of the two boys."

For goodness sake !

The Judge wanted to send out a message to society to say this behaviour is unacceptable, so he let her off.??...........not exactly a deterrent as such is it.

Muffyxx

Muffyxx Report 16 Nov 2009 22:12

She walked from the court...........the kids are in the care of the Grandparents so she still see them, what a joke..!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Whirley

Whirley Report 16 Nov 2009 22:14

Apparently, they found foot prints in the milk powder on the floor, from one of the toddlers, they'd tried to eat the powder as they were hungry.

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 16 Nov 2009 22:15

But did you see the state of the house? If relatives lived near enough to be worried then, why had they not done something before, the house didn't get like that overnight. It might well be that she was suffering from depression and sunk so low in it she couldn't cope but you would think somebody might have noticed before it got to that point. I believe the children are in the care of Grandparents now. And she got a suspended sentence.

StrayKitten
