I have fairy lights round my massive mirror in my dining room. but those are up all year as I love em so much. I only put a fibre optic xmas tree up and the odd bit of tinsel and a flower reefy thing on my front door. That's it, nothing else. Presents are all hidden up until xmas afternoon once we've had dinner.

Although we have no family at home now, I still like to 'blob-up', and my decs. are a bit more refined and tasteful, even if I do say so myself. Have a lovely wreath I paid £25 for about four years ago, but it was well worth the money, as it looks like new. I put it INSIDE my conservatory door. Wouldn't want it 'wandering' down the street. Many a one goes missing from the local cemetary and appears hung on someones front door.
I have one of those tall fireplace surrounds and a marble hearth, and this lends itself to some lovely ideas, when dressing it up. Unfortunatly I do not have a large hall and banisters, else I would run amok with the 'deck the halls with boughs of holly' ,and ivy twined up it. Mind you, could be abit dangerous when going to bed, if I 'accidently miss placed my footing', after the brandy.
I too am like a big kid with Christmas, and long may it last, because when I don't, I'll know I'm passed my best.
Good Luck to you stray, I bet baby Satan thinks it's lovely.

But when I do put them up I have loads. OH loves lights and we have them everywhere, even in the conservatory, we have an artificial tree loaded with decorations, this year as last, red, gold, silver and white, and we have quite a lot of Christmas ornaments, five cottages which I group on a large coffee table, they all light up and are on artificial snow with various figures to make a scene, and several snowmen ornaments.
I also do two large Christmas arrangements and have a couple of bowls of baubles. we are still like kids at Christmas.
