red ones are lovely, but I would have to travel a long way to see one in the wild! we have the ratty ones here and they did up EVERYTHING that I plant in tubs in the front or back garden. I used to love 'em but now I could cheerfully string 'em up :-) |

i remember when i was a young lad, the gamekeppers used to shoot them on sight then hang them up as a warning to others, but not to sure if the others understood that, Magpies, Jays, Crows and many more where shot and hung up around the woods. |

i think i'm right in saying that in the 50s 60s the only animal/birds that where protected was the Swans and game birds. |

I was only thinking the other day, what was my best ever Christmas pressie, yea when I was 11 got my first Air Rifle, and that was it, the greatest pressie I ever got, used to spend hours and hours around the fields hunting. |
