The wife and girlfriend of an unemployed father of 15 who sparked a national outcry when he complained about the size of his council house are both pregnant, according to reports. Mick Philpott, of Derby, claimed Britain was 'going down the pan'' after his local council said it could not provide him with a bigger home for his huge clan. Now it has emerged that the 49-year-old is about to become a father to children numbers 16 and 17. Wife Mairead and girlfriend Lisa Willis are both expecting, he told the Derby Evening Telegraph. It reports he vowed to have a vasectomy, saying that he was 'annoyed with himself'. Mr Philpott refused to comment on the report at his Victory Road home. He lives at the property with his 25-year-old wife, who is the mother of their five children, aged one to seven. Sharing their home is his 22-year-old girlfriend and their three young children. Miss Willis also has another child, aged six, from a previous relationship, who lives at the house. Nothing susprises me any more, but hey whos to blame Lol they will be telling us next they have been awarded funds for a nannie to help them look after the kids cos they are stressed looking after them, or maybe cos they have some sort of sleep disorder hence the reason for all the kids, surely it would be cheaper to but them a TV might not breed so much. yes Theresa but they married and had children. loads of them, many didnt survive, but THIS guy. got a wife AND a concubine...unemployed and complaining that the council wont house him? When MY ancestral lott had kids they moved house, seems every birth was at a different address, they didnt have much stuff, probably.....I expect that all they had fitted on a hand cart........Bob

Disgusting if one thinks an older man shouldn't be with a much younger woman, immoral in today's society that doesn't tolerate multiple wives/partners and irresponsible for those who believe that families should always be self-supporting. Victorian families were often large because of the circumstances of the day - high infant mortality, little birth control and the prevailing atittude that the marriage bed should produce lots of children. None of that applies these days, and as Teresa says though, not surprising in this is not surprising in this 'me, me, me' day and age.

This guy IS already in council housing, here in the city I live in. His complaint is that the council is 'going down the pan' because he has applied for a larger house and they haven't been able to give him one! Personally (and judging by the dozens and dozens of comments replying to the article in our local paper, most people agree) I reckon they would better use our council tax monies in giving the moron a vasectomy. He is quoted as saying he is 'annoyed' with himself, but the 2 additional children weren't planned (no sh*t sherlock!) and thats just the way it happened. It's almost as if the idiot doesn't realise that unprotected sex causes pregnancy!! To really dig himself deeper - if he could - he admits to not even knowing the name of one of his 15 children, who he believes (!) may be in the army!?! He is unable to get work, he says due to the publicity. Could be due to the fact that he has a conviction for attempted murder - that tends to put prospective employers off!! However, he has justified himself by claiming to have paid his council tax! So thats all right then.

maybe the blame should be put on the 2 women involved here. What woman in their right mind would be sharing a husband with a girlfriend in the same house. He is obviously hopping from one bed to another or maybe they all share a bed cos they cant afford another one. Or is this the same man that claims he sometimes sleeps in a tent when his kids from another relationship come to stay cos there isnt enoough rooms to all sleep in?

Hi Bob, More a strong case of extreme irresponsible behaviour. Why not re-house the girlfriend? or maybe he's another who wants his cake and eat it,,,,,,,,I dont see how the local council don't see this as over-crowding,most C/property is 3 bed(some 4)so at present 11-3(4) = soon to be 13-3(4) =. Perhaps he may be the first to get a Council Mansion address who knows, stranger things have been known to happen when you shout -*hard done by*, by ones own self actions. Maybe he feels his *Human Rights* are being affected and the council are guilty for making him live in these circumstances,,, But then what do we know,but he does by admsision pay his council tax so he does show some responsibilty?? kay.

Well it is disgusting isent it??? Get him to do some of the jobs the poorly paid Imigrants do,that would be my plan of action for the lay about:-)) See its not only Imigrants that fleece the country,most are very british Indeed!! Infact the majority are British, make them work for their money.
