ditto to what Gwyn said about growing up in England with a Welsh name. It doesn't really annoy me when people spell it wrongly - although the presence of a Q at the beginning does jar a bit. My Mum used to go ballistic if I was referred to as Gwen. No idea why but it was funny to watch. Gwynne |

I can't bear it!! DIANA is not spelt with 2 N's and doesn't contain an 'E' so why do I get Dianna and Diane? Di is not a name its a request!! My name is Diana, nothing complicated there at all!! :o) |

It's little wonder we have so much trouble tracing ancestors! lol I too get really annoyed when people spell my name incorrectly. It's not rude to ask if you're unsure, and better than guessing. |

You should try having my name then Maz! I can't count the amount of different spellings I've had over the years But it's not so much the mis-spelling that annoys me so much as when people pronounce it....Janet. Oh and I don't like it being shortened to Jean either! lol |

You're just Maz. Don't think of you as a Marion at all, although Mavis has a certain ring to it!! lol No one gets Sue wrong, they just confuse me with about 50 other people in the same room which is why I use Daisy - don't think anyone's got that wrong yet. Daisy |

granted my surname is unusual and starts with J, but why do people insist , particually on the telephone, insist of swapping the J for a Y? I mean , you wouldn't assume to pronounce Jones 'Yones' or Jane 'Yane' so why do it with my surname?? It unsual but English ( well, Manx actually) Jess |
