It drives me insane when people get my surname wrong. Especially when my names called out and they call me something different. I once had to take my brother to A&E and ended up having a bit of an arguement with one of the nurses who spelt his name wrong on the form. He wouldn't have it that his name was Jamie and not James. I offered to bring his birth certificate in to show him.

It's when they call you something rude you have to worry! I am terrible at remembering names, but usually remember faces. As everyone remembers me, being tall, I am constantly at a loss when I meet people on the streets with whom I am not regularly in contact. And I'm expected to remember all the names in their families, too!

Yep !! a neighbour who really is a nice guy ,altho in my opinion a little eccentric, always calls me Sheila!!!! even putting that on the Xmas card. I always put cards in neighbours doors every year since we have been here in 1968 but every year his card comes back to Sheila & hubby. When we speak he calls me Sheila and I say its Shirley but he seems to have a mind block !! I really have given up ,altho i do sign my name every year/ What can you do!!
