I don't think anyone else is interested. Las month we seemed to gain a couple but have heard no more from them so presumably they have lost interest. Ann glos

Hi Ann, why not let us choose our own classic from those 2? I will read Jamaica Inn, but couldn't vote for it as it was my suggestion. Maz. XX

Lorraine Report 30 Oct 2006 14:58

if i get time i ll read jamica inn - also fancied that one really pleased with the other two - fingersmith is a bit racy in parts but sarah waters is such a great new author off to the library to see what they got

I am actually not sure if I will be able to read any. i don't like taking library books out of the country and we go away on Thurday for 2 weeks. might be ableto do something when we get back on 17th. I'll see. I was hoping one of mine would be chosen as I already have them in paperback. Not to worry. Yes choose your own from the two top classics. i have read jamaica inn, might get it and read it again though as I did enjoy it many years ago. Ann Glos

AnninGlos Report 31 Oct 2006 13:03

thank you Jackie, please rejoin us when you are able. We seemed to have lost so many recently that I was wondering whether or not to continue, it is a bit dispiriting when I have to keep nagging away all the time to get replies and I wonder if people really are interested or keeping it going to 'humour' me. Lynda, do you have no access to English books there? maybe we can organise something, perhaps one of us could send you out a book after it has been read and then you could review it the following month. i would be happy to send you one as Dee and I did for jaquie (Oleander). ann Glos

Hi Elaine, welcome to our little club within a club! I would recommend that you search this board with 'Greaders' and all our old threads will come up! You can see then what we do and when we do it! You don't have to read all the books - just what you can manage, and all you have to do at the end is give your opinion. Hope you enjoy being part of it as much as I do! I have read some cracking books that I would never even have considered otherwise. Maz. XX

I have managed to get hold of all three choices for this month, and am looking forward to them Hope we can keep this going Ann, as Maz says, it has introduced us to books we may never have otherwise come across ;-)))
