Ok, So Archie is a cat...But He could be a monkey, elephant or child, it is still heartbreaking!!! Archie lost both his ears to cancer, and beat the odds to survive, he is now 12yrs old!!! He's not a good looking cat, more a mog....But has the temprement of an angel... Today his 'owners' took him to a cattery and dumped him as they have a new baby and no longer want him..They asked if he could be destroyed...The lady boasted that she will be walking the great wall of china to raise money for Cancer research...My boss replied charity should begin at home..There is no reason they cant keep the cat, other than they cant be bothered!! They left him there, not knowing what he'd done wrong, now with an uncertain future... Archie is desperate for an understanding home where looks are less important than companionship...If anyone can help please let me know...This has broken my heart this morning.. LOU XXXXXXXXXXXXX |

Awww thats awful, some people are wicked. I would love to take him in, but my cat cleo is an indoor cat and scared of other cats. If I was you I would go to the local paper with this story, she needs shaming! |

Oh god how sad! My first instinct is to see if i could have him, but i know Pepsi my cat wouldnt accept him and that wouldnt be fair to either of them. I do hope some one takes him in and gives him a loving home which he needs and deserves xx |

oh that is so awful. I am totally lost for words. Poor thing, I do so hope he finds a good home, have you thought of getting in touch with the press? Highlight his plight, esp coming up to Christams, I would, this little guy needs all the publicity he can. Do let us know how you go on Lou. catherine xx |

That is so sad, how can she live with herself. she has looked after him upto now why would a baby make any difference, my cats 12 I never had any problems with him when I had my children. I wish i could offer him a loving home, but with 1 old cat and 2 dogs one not healthy herself its ompossible. I do hope a home is found real soon |

I cannot stop thinking about Archie, poor little man. So far none of us can help him as such, but is there anything we can do to spread the word for him? If you tell us what area he is in etc, i'll email all my contacts. Between us im sure we could help find him a loving home? x |

yeah let the papers and local tv highlight his plight this will definately get him the home he deserves, if he's in my area let me know I know a local reporter for the Manchester Evening News who will do a story.Or if you want I can still contact them, if you know your local paper and get him to ring, catherine xx |

This woman's actions have made me think twice about Cancer Research. If she can do that to a living being, then say she's raising money for that cause .......? She has done nothing for the cause to my mind; what a hypocrite. We have five cats already, three of them male; sadly, we wouldn't be able to have him. Again, I'm ashamed to be human. :-( |

Sorry, was out popping a few pics of him about... He's in Leeds... You all KNOW i would take him if i could...But after saying little Ella the kitten was the last i had to take another in ( Jazzie)..I ABSOLUTLY cannot have this one although my heart is dying a thousand deaths for him...I have the five cats, three dogs and multiple rabbos and guineas..He just wouldnt get the attention he so very deserves... The cattery he's at do put ads in the papers about the abandonded cats they get..Unfortunatly, there are others due their 'exposure' well before him...! If someone has a loving home thats not too far away i can bring him to you...It must be away from main roads though as his hearing isnt what it used to be... Thankyou all for being there for him...I am determind to find a home for him before the end of the week... LOU XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX |

I dunno Lou, but we live in a quiet cul-de-sac, lots of cats round here and thankfully well off the main road. One of our neighbours had to have their one remaining female cat put to sleep the other day. They also have a dog (from the Dogs' Trust) who misses Mitzi. But a) we live in Devon, and b) I don't know if they want another one. I could ask, but it'd be a long journey for Archie Puss. x |

Bless him, he has the same name as my poor old Dad, bet he would have liked him. I do hope he finds a home really soon, why not get on to the paper and/or local tv - then the woman's neighbours will know what she has done too. Also the article/news item can show the other cats that need homes too, this often happens when someone can't get the 'special' cat or dog they spot another one and take that so might help the others waiting for new homes. How is this woman doing the Great Wall walk with a new baby? Strange or what? Liz |
