The clocks are due to be put back by one hour, this weekend. whats your opinion on this? it is said that accidents to schoolchildren will increase due to homegoing in the dark, and also car shunts........ Bob |

Personally I've never understood why the clocks have to be tampered with. Stick to the one GMT all through the year. Sylvx |

I wish they would leave it where it is all year round. I know it was originally for people going to work in the mornings but with far more traffic on the roads now than there was then there is far more chance of accidents early evening (especially December when it is dark when children are travelling home from school). I was in Egypt a few weeks ago and we had to put the clocks back an hour on a Thursday. |

This argument crops up every time, and to be honest it's seems pretty pointless nowadays. I suspect more accidents are caused at dusk irrespective of wehat time of year it is. That said I do believe there is a benefit in Northern Scotland. It must be very depressing finding it nightime at 2 pm. |

I dread it when the clocks go back at this time of year. It's hard enough getting out of bed early during the week, but when it's pitch-black it's just miserable. |

There is no logic to it. For every argument for there is one against. It is for us adjust our lives around the available light as man as always done. Countries nearer the equator don't have a significant change of daylight time. Bob |

Perhaps we should get up when it's light and go to bed when it's dark. In mid December we'll only have time for a quick snack at lunchtime...... |
