Why is it we get storys passed down on how our ancestors were v wealthy and owned this and that when it comes to us there is nothing left is there ? June. |

yeh ive noticed that houses owned by g/grandad, but nowt left after that, and on mums side, rumour has it a hotel was owned, and a big building firm, but nope nothing now |

I always love the story of my GGrandmother who was an Irish catholic.. She was married 3 times . The first died when she was pregant with her 4th child. When her 3rd husband died, she went to live as a nun at a nunery when she died. Poppycock.. She left her 1st husband when she was pregant with her 4th child and ran off with her second husbandwho she never married till the first one died 10 yrs later.They married in secret in another part of manchester. She died at home with her 3rd husband present... |

My GGrandad owned 3 fishing Cobles in the 1920,s (this is hwere my name comes from) well anywayhis 3 brothers tried to do my Grandad out of his share when G Grandad died so he was going to take them to court so he got his share,,funny though the 3 brothers all had their own houses but my G/Dad didn,t.. June. |

Ive got papers relating to land owned by this side of my family,I know this isent just a story, I have proven it with my research. I think its like anything wealth gets watered down as time passes. I always think there always truth in family stories, my grandmother got me started on my research and all has been proven but the money has gone:-( Or maybe theres some long lost relative whos a multi milionaire lol who knows! |

i also found out that my grandmother x3 who was the grandaughter of this man married a man the family did not aprove of(I have a letter relating to this) reading between the lines I think she was cut out of the family will:-(( |

Hey folks keep it coming we may be able to write a book.. My Gran never spoke to her sister Rose for over 20 yrs it was over money my GAunt Rose lost her Hubby had a stroke but they made it up in the end .June. |
