The best of thanks to prickly Holly . Today I have received the death registration of one Percy Holding known as Peter Holding - parents E Rowson and H Holding . He came to NZ and he died just a couple of suburbs away in Porirua , Wellington in 1997. So close and yet so far ...never married . Ashes were scattered ...Lived here for 22 years it said .

I can fill in another hole on my family tree but so sad . I will keep looking ...

I just wanted to let you know I've solved the mystery of who Betty married - on all records its shown as Eric AA Gornett in 1956.
I got the certificate from Warrington, and they also had it as Gornett , but you can see the ink pen blotted where the n was supposed to be and the name is Gorvett.
How do I know for sure?? - Well just this last week Ancestry allowed free access to some records and on the 1939 register I could match the address shown for Eric to his dad George Fisher Gorvett also shown the marriage certificate ! Its taken years , but its solved.

I still cant find anymore info on Eric or even Bettys death....but its progress .

i know my previous posts are old , but just wanted to let you know after you all tried to help me .

Eric - full name was Eric Albert Alan Gorvett - 21 yrs old on Marriage cert -says he was a drivers mate Brewery - and address given as 37 London Road Stockton Heath...and on the register-1939 thats where it gave Hilda Feasby at same address - it originally had Gorvett for her surname but that was crossed out and replaced with Feasby.

Ivy Gallop nee Holding was a witness , as was Stanley Sankey (not sure where Stanley comes in).

Thank you so much for providing Bettys date of death. Doesnt look like they had any children.

Why does the record say its officially closed? Is that what happens after their death?
