Hi. Does anyone have access to the 1939 registers. I am looking for Betsy Howarth or Haworth born about 1920 in Bury and got married in 1943 in Bury to a Harold Berry I think the 1939 register might give me details of her family Thank you.

Betsy Howarth or Haworth was definitely born in Bury about 1920,. she only married in 1943 also in Bury so I thought she might have been on the 1939 register as a 19 year old either with her family or by herself. Thank you all for trying to find her.

Entries are closed for people born 1918 or later unless they died before 1992. The Register was a working document until then.

The National Archives, & other organisations such as Ancestry & Findmypast, are trying to match entries & death indexes registered since 1992.

Often it easier to match male names than female ones, particularly if the female had married.
My mother (1919- 2003) did not have her entry opened on FMP until I submitted a copy of her DC.
My father (1923- 2006) had his entry opened without any intervention from me. As a singleton, no one else is likely to have bothered.

If that is her death that I posted then her record won’t be opened as the register wouldn’t have been updated to that date
