Granny Grumps Report 16 Dec 2009 13:43

Have any of you ever bought anything of them, I paid for a leather tub chair for hubby ob the 24Th Nov, after a few days when it did not arrive i contacted the seller who thanked me for my patience and promised it 2 days later, after waiting 2 weeks i have contacted pay pal to tell them goods still had not arrived they advised contacting owner and resolving this, yet again he promised to deliver with a £5 discount, which i replied was not good enough, anyway the long and short of it is still no chair i have now contacted Pay Pal and put a claim in, they have to wait for seller to reply and this could go on for 30 days, so beware if you buy anything from E-Bay, plus this seller has given me an E-mail and it does not exist.

Very Grumpy Granny now.

I use ebay loads for buying and selling, I think you have just been unlucky because generally I have had a really good service from the sellers on there

We use E-bay all the time and have never had any problems. Did you check the seller's rating? - it usually gives you a rating in the right hand top corner and look for anything that is almost 100% positive.

I've never had a problem buying from Ebay, but I did have to make a claim yesterday through Paypal for a book that hasn't turned up, ordered back in November. Like you Granny, they've advised me to contact the seller but again like you the email address doesn't seem to exist.

Still I've learnt a lesson, if a person on a certain genealogical website not a million miles from here invites us to take a look at his website I shall resist, it's just a shame that person has to remain nameless.

Hope you have a good outcome

Oh lawd. I know Paypal are supposed to be very good on getting the money back to you but that doesn't help in the meantime does it

Granny Grumps

Granny Grumps Report 16 Dec 2009 15:11

Beejay

Beejay Report 16 Dec 2009 15:15

Good luck anyway, let me know how you get on with your claim if you can, hopefully if you can't get hold of your seller Paypal might sort it sooner than the 30 days

I use eBay quite a lot; no problems so far.

My son in law nearly got caught out, though.

He paid £750 (Paypal) for a pair of speakers; they are a famous name and this seemed a bargain for his band. The speakers never did arrive, despite the seller's assurances that they were on the way, and Paypal refunded his money.

It looks like you have run into a bad 'un but as you paid by Paypal you should get your money back.

Don't forget to leave this rotter some really bad feedback!

I have left negative feed back, but if i could get my hands on him the robbing git that he is, he e-mailed me on E-Bay but i cannot contact him any other way, mind you that's no bad thing the mood I'm in at present. lol

RB don't worry i won't hold my breath otherwise money will be no good to a dead person. lol

you need to escalate the claim, you can do this soon after making the initial claim. Ebay has its own community boards and usually people on there are really helpfula and will give you some advice, I would recommend you give it a try

I think i just escalated the claim with pay pal not too sure on what I'm doing to be honest.

Will go and see if i can find board, do you know if I'm allowed to mention his name?
