Poor 'ol Jane, getting stick about her tree. !!! You have the right attitude. Like it or lump it. It's your choice so sod all to do with them.

Last night when I cleared a path to the Road, Well today, Lewis has been doing his thing in clearing, nows there's more snow on the path than there was before he started. !!!!He has cleared the neighbours path, who are away for the weekend. The other neighbours, wouldn't let him do theirs. !!!! said LEAVE IT ALONE so he did. The two little boys next door but one have just called round. They are all out there playing snowballs and building a snowman. HAPPY AS LARRY. Bless them !!! He is such a thoughful lad. when we were out this morning he said Pappy hold onto me in case you fall over. I would have crushed him.

We have not long finished dinner, Roast beef etc. He cleared the lot. All this fresh air, has done him good. He will sleep well tonight.

Thanks all, for your kind thoughts.

Jane Report 19 Dec 2010 17:32

I could murder a roast beef dinner Frank. But will make do with the casserole.
I got the potatoes in from the garage just now to peel.I could hardly hold them ..they are freezing !!.James said it is so much colder here than in Kent.He couldn't believe the difference.
Frank I can't believe you have had all that snow and we have had nothing.

THEY'D have to pay for the Tree Jane, not you!!! £39!!!! that would concentrate the mind!!! Your little boy sounds a lovely lad Frank, the thing is that when children are small they love you because you are you, and are completely un - critical about how you look, whether you are rich or poor, thin or fat or whatever, never judgemental about anything, really lovely. OH is fast asleep, poor old soul, cold weather getting to him!

Jane

Yes ,loved the card Liz thankyou.I haven't seen the forecast yet for Christmas.
Just watched the Edwardian Farm.Brilliant!.They said it was the Tamar Valley.Does anyone know exactly where it was please???Was it the Devon side or the Cornish side ?

Annx

Annx Report 19 Dec 2010 20:58

The Devon side Jane. C'mon now.....spill the beans!! Not that busker chap you met is it?? lol Just remembered he was Bob.

You should tell James you took pity on that poor christmas tree that people might pass by because of the kink and gave it a home! lol

Lewis sounds such a nice lad Frank......you are very lucky to have each other. I bet he enjoyed his dinner after that snowballing.

Annx Report 19 Dec 2010 21:28

OH went to collect his parents Mandy, about 15 miles away.........while I unblocked the toilet!!!!!!! lol FIL doesn't like driving at night, so is probably sensible not to.

When they arrived back and were getting settled in I kept hearing a funny noise and kept excusing myself to go and try and find out what it was. It was a high pitched intermittent whine, like something electrical. Having eventually trecked through the whole bungalow, I waylaid OH and asked if he could hear it. He started chuckling........'It's dad's hearing aid' he said!! lol

MIL NEVER wears trousers of any kind however cold it is. Well today she was in a nice plum coloured skirt that just covered the top edge of her knees when she sat down. Below that she had some pop socks on, but unfortunately they stopped about 4 inches below the knee so there was an expanse of snow white knees between the pop socks and skirt. They were like eye magnets and every time I looked at OH I could tell the way his eyes were twinkling that he had noticed too!!! lol I had to stop looking at him so I could keep a straight face. They seemed to enjoy themselves and had plenty to eat and drink, and enjoyed pulling those crackers! OH got a tiny set of screwdrivers in his, which are useful and I got a hairslide. They are safely back at home now and OH will be going back there at 6.45am tomorrow to take FIL to hospital in the city for a scan of his kidneys.

Ann, its funny how our eyes are attacted to things like that. I have seen so many things over the years, and it is difficult to keep a straight face.

What are you upto then JANE??? chatting up other men on a different site !!!!

Good night all, sleep tight.

Morning Jane and all,

We've had more snow in the night!!!! It is dustbin day but don't think they will come as OH said the link road is blocked and he dos'nt fancy taking it up to the gate.

Frank so sorry to hear of your sisters passing. A blessed releif for all concerned that she went quietly and peacefully. My thoughts are with you all.

Sheila good luck for your SIL on Turesday, keeping my finger crossed for him.

OH put my lights up in the kitchen for me yesterday and I hung all your cards over the pc so am getting into the spirit a bit. We have'nt got a tree yet as OH said we wil get it this week but I doubt whether we we be able to get out. Just as well I bought one of those Cra*ndale 4 pints. I also bought a nice piece of beef and a big roll of turkey breast for us this year as they only had BIG turkey crowns when I went last week. OH has run out of beer which will upset him tonight! He likes his pint with his dinner.

Frank I ma sure Lewis will enjoy his stay as usual.

Sheila good that Jess and April arrived safely too. Sorry to hear about your high blod pressure t hough.

I was'nt around on here yesterday as I was baking!!!!!!! Scones and mince pies. OH had one after our steak lst night and then said he was'nt sure about them. I replied "I suppose you will have to have another to make sure" and he said yes and laughed!!! I put chopped walnuts in with the mincemeat anad a good drop of brandy. So we have Beef, Turkey, miince pies, and a christmas pud from last year which the date has'nt run out on.

Shop down the raod said he would send out a 4 x 4 to collect the wreaths but I have'nt made any more as I can't get the stuff to make them as it's all covered in snow.

10.07am.

Fiona

Fiona Report 20 Dec 2010 10:32

morning all
Didn't make it on here yesterday. so have been catching up with your posts,

Frank. so sorry to see that your sister has passed away, glad it was peaceful, and good that her daughters were with her.

Sheila, thanks for the nice words about the cake. it was a joint effort this year, OH baked it, I did the decorating.

Jane have you an admirer? have you found out yet who Colin is?

Went to church yesterday, lovely service, with the children doing the nativity play.
Then went up to the cemetery to lay wreaths, bitterly cold, didn't stay to long,

Phoned dad's hospital to see how he was before going up but was told that he had had a bad night wandering around, and had fallen out of bed and had hit his head and now has a cut at the back of his head , the calming medication is not doing the job so they are having to try something else, so dad is exausted and cannot walk keeps falling over and hurting himself, they have to keep a lap restraint on him to stop him getting up, so the nurse says it would be best not to visit him this weekend as it could be distressing for me and dad would not even be aware I was there, I will just keep phoneing through the week to see how he is.

Daughter no 1 & family came for dinner yesterday, & SIL told us that his company is giving out Christmas turkey's this year along with a small hamper, wine etc. so he will bring the hamper to us as they will be spending most of there time with us on Christmas day, very nice we were going to buy our turkey on Wednesday, but will wait now till we find out what size the turkey is that SIL brings
Coffee time.

Fiona what a lovely present for your SIL to get from his firm!! You lucky things.

I knew it was going to get colder as my hands have gone all dry again. They always tell me by splitting open at the joints etc. and catch on all my clothing that is NOT cotton. Nails too are chipping round the edges.

As to Jane's admirer!! Well I just don't know what to say...................................
